Nigerian Navy Special Forces has rescued three kidnapped foreign sailors in Bayelsa state

The foreigners were kidnapped by sea pirates, and rescued by the Nigerian Navy Special forces after engaging in a marathon shooting with the pirates.

The gun battle which happened on Tuesday night lasted till early hours on Wednesday whereby the Special forces troops arrested the sea pirates.

It could be recalled that same pirates killed four Nigerian Navy personnel.

Onyxnewsng has gathered that personnel of the Forward Operations Base (FOB) Igbokoda has been very much at alert since the incident.

About 11pm on Tuesday, after intelligence reports to the base of an approaching speed boat suspected to be conveying the kidnapped victims, the naval Special Forces were deployed in some gunboats to the sea entrance.

Sighting the naval gunboats, the suspects triggered gun shots on the navy special forces.

The naval forces in a tactical move, not to injure the kidnapped victims, trailed the suspects who beach landed at a nearby creek and fled into the bush.

Thereafter, the whole of the surroundings were ransacked with community youths and naval personnel backup from Idi-Ogba and Abereke outpost, Ondo state.

Therefore, Martins Egenuvhe, one of the suspects from Olopa Community in Bayelsa state was arrested with a gun.

Meanwhile, the rescued foreigners have been taken to naval base for further investigation.
