Man shot beautiful wife over suspicion of infidelity
Some Malawians have sent a sorrowful message through the Facebook about the death of a 25-year-old Waheeda Bagus who was shot by her husband because he suspected her of infidelity.
Waheeda was a niece to Malawi’s Minster of Trade, Industry and Tourism, Salim Bagus, was shot by her husband on December 15. But later died on Tuesday 14, January after suffering from the gunshot wounds.
Waheeda died at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Malawi.
It has been revealed that the late Bagus’ condition became worse and there was a need to raise K40 million for specialised treatment in India. Unfortunately, she died despite attempts to save her life.
Bagus’ husband Mark William Phiri tried to escape after committing the crime eventually handed himself over to Malawi Police and was charged with attempted murder.
In a statement released hours after Bagus’ death, Zgambo said Phiri attempted to bribe the Police Officers on duty who were left with no choice but to force him into custody
Lingadzi Police Public Relations Officer Salomy Chibwana Zgambo has revealed that the suspect will now answer to murder charges following the killing of Waheeda Bagus, his wife.
