BREAKING: Vice President Osibanjo survives another accident, convoy dies
Police inspector identified as Ali Gomina, convoy to the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s has died in a motor accident while on an official trip in Abuja on Friday, 13 March, 2020.
This is making it twice the Vice President has escaped death in five years, the first was when his helicopter crashed.
Osinbajo had stopped his planned trip after the accident.
In a statement released after the sad news and didn’t disclose where the Vice President was heading to, announced:
“With grief in our hearts, we announce the death of one of the police escort riders on the Vice President’s convoy, Inspector Ali Gomina, aged 45, who was involved in a road accident while on official duty today,” the brief statement read.
“The accident occurred on the road to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. The Vice President, who is greatly saddened by this occurrence, has aborted the scheduled trip.
“The Vice President described Gomina as a diligent, hardworking and serious-minded officer who will be greatly missed by the team. He is survived by his wife, children and relatives.”
The vice president prayed eternal rest for Gomina’s soul.
Onyxnewsng reported that Vice President Osinbajo had an helicopter accident while going to Kogi state governorship campaign in February 2, 2019. In February 2020, exactly one year later, he and family had a thanksgiving service to God Almighty for surviving the helicopter crash.
