While the world is busy battling coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, North Korea is busy testing multiple missiles.

North Korea has remained obstinate to warnings and restrictions as it continues to test its missiles even as countries battle the COVID-19 virus.

Multiple short-range projectiles believed to be surface-to-ship cruise missiles were fired on Tuesday into the East Sea from a North Korea’s eastern coastal town.

South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported the projectiles flew around 150 kilometres into the sea.

Joint Chief of Staff (JCS) of Seoul’s military said, “They were fired from North Korea’s eastern coastal town of Munchon in a north-westerly direction at around 7 am (2200 GMT Monday).”

The launch came a day before South Korea’s parliamentary elections.

Despite UN ban, North Korea test-fired many ballistic missiles in March after a three-month wait.

UN resolutions barred the nuclear nation from testing ballistic missiles.

It has also been hit with tough sanctions to put off from continuing to develop rockets that could be equipped with nuclear warheads.
