BREAKING: Governor Ganduje of Kano makes new appointment amid coronavirus spread

Onyxnews Nigeria reports that Governor Gaduje has made new appointment in Kano state amid coronavirus (COVID-19) spread in Nigeria.

This reliable online news platform understands that the Kano State Government, led by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Tuesday, approved the appointment of Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa, as the new Emir of Rano.

Prior to his appointment, Inuwa was the District Head of Kibiya Local Government Area of Kano, which is under Rano Emirate.

His appointment came after the death of emir of Rano, Alhaji Tafida Abubakar Ila, Autan Bawo.

Onyxnews Nigeria also under stands that  the traditional ruler died at the age of 74 on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at a hospital in Kano.

Four kingmakers viz. Rt. Hon. Kabeer Alhassan Rurum, member representing Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure Federal Constituency at the National Assembly (Turakin Rano), Dr. Yahaya Isa Bunkure (Makaman Rano), Hon. Justice Wada Umar Rano (Madakin Rano) and Malam Ada’u Isah Rano (Magajin Garin Rano) recommended his appointment to the governor.

In a related development, a former Assistant Commissioner of Police, Hamza Idris Malikawa, has died in Kano State on Monday. Morikawa’s younger brother, Rilwanu, confirmed his death on Tuesday.

He announced that the retired police officer died on Monday. Riliwanu, who is also the media officer of Pillars FC, Kano, said, “He was admitted to the hospital three days. He was a diabetic patient.” “He died yesterday (Monday),” Rilwanu added.

Recall that an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Atiku Nagodi, has also died in Kano State on Monday. Nagode, 54, until his death, was the Mobile Squadron Commander 9, Police Mobile Force in Kano.
