BREAKING: Four persons killed in helicopter crash
A military helicopter crashed on Tuesday at an airport in Russia’s remote eastern Chukotka region, killing all four people on board, the governor said.
The helicopter of the Russian defence ministry went down in the main airport in Chukotka near Anadyr, which has mixed military and civilian use.
“There were three crew members and one technician on board. All four died,” governor Roman Kopin wrote on his Instagram account.
Russian agencies reported that it was a Mi-8 helicopter which was doing a test flight after undergoing technical maintenance.
According to a defence ministry statement, “The reason for the accident could be a technical fault with the helicopter.”

Similarly, on Friday, 22 May 2020
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Lahore, with 91 passengers and seven-crew on board, Friday, crashed near the Karachi Airport, just a minute before the Airbus A320 was to land, AFP said.
The PIA flight PK-8303 reportedly went down in a densely populated residential area, Jinnah Garden area near Model Colony in Malir, just short of the Jinnah International Airport.
96 crew perished while two reportedly survived in the plane crash.
