BREAKING: Dubai police hand over Hushpuppi to US FBI

The Dubai police has extradited an Instagram celebrity, Raymond Igbalode Abbas, popularly known as “Hushpuppi,” from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the United States.
Onyxnews Nigeria reports that the police broke the news in a statement released via the micro blogging site, Twitter on Thursday.
In the statement, the Dubai police said the US Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) extended its gratitude to the UAE crime unit for its role in apprehending and extraditing the internet personality.
“The Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Christopher Wray has praised the exceptional efforts exerted by the United Arab Emirate, represented by the Dubai Police General HQ, in combating transnational organised cybercrime including the recent arrest of Raymond Igbalode Abbas, known as “Hushpuppi” and Olalekan Jacob Ponle aka “Woodberry” who were taken down in operation Fox Hunt 2,” the statement read.
“Mr Wray also extended his appreciations to Dubai Police for their cooperation in extraditing the wanted criminals, who committed money-laundering and multiple cybercrimes, to the United States.”

Onyxnews Nigeria reported that the Dubai police last month, disclosed how it arrested “Hushpuppi.”
In a video released by the Dubai police said a special team had since about four months been tracking the activities of the suspect and his gang on social media.
The police revealed despite the arrest of Hushpuppi and 12 other members of his gang, it discovered that 1.6 billion Dirham (N168 billion) fraud had been committed by the gang.
Not more than 1,926,400 people from different parts of the world were also said to have fallen victims to the suspects.
According to the police, 13 luxury cars, estimated at 35 million Dirham (N3.7 billion) were recovered from the house where Hushpuppi and gang were arrested.
