Ben Bruce has disclosed what Isa Funtua told him 3 hours before his death.
Onyxnews Nigeria had reported on Monday night that Isa Funtua died in Abuja while undergoing a routine medical check-up. The 78-year-old Newspaper patron and influential media leader died at after he reportedly suffered a heart attack during the medical check-up.
Few minutes after his death, Nigerian Senator, Benedict Murray-Bruce, who represented the Bayelsa East constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the 8th Nigerian Senate, took to Twitter, to reveal that he spoke with late Isa Funtua 3 hours before his death.
Senator Ben Bruce said Isa Funtua had told him 3 hours earlier before he was reported dead that he would call him the next day (today, Tuesday, July 21, 2020).
The former Bayelsa East lawmaker, however, expressed his grieve with the family of the deceased and asked God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
“I am saddened by the death of my brother and senior colleague, Mallam Isa Funtua. I spoke to him just three hours before his reported death, and he promised to further call me tomorrow. I pray that God comforts his family and loved ones, and may his soul rest in peace.”
