BREAKING: Appeal Court gives judgement on Dino Melaye’s plead

Appeal Court has delivered judgement on Dino Melaye’s appeal.
Onyxnews Nigeria reports that the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, has dismissed the sue filed by Dino Melaye, challenging the victory of Senator Smart Adeyemi as the winner of Kogi West Senatorial District election.
This reliable online news platform understands that a three-man panel of justices of the Appeal Court on Tuesday unanimously resolved all seven issues, identified for determination, against Melaye (the appellant).
The panel of justices upheld the judgment delivered by the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal which sat in Abuja on June 10, 2020, which affirmed the declaration of Adeyemi as the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The appeal court, which struck out Adeyemi’s preliminary objection, awarded N50, 000 cost against Melaye and in favour of the respondents.
