ENDSARS: Lagos on fire as protesters are shot in Lekki toll gate

Nigerians have taken to the social media to condemn the alleged attack on peaceful protesters ‘#ENDSARS’, at Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos.

Nigerian Police Force has been accused of maltreating and extra judiciously killing innocent youths in the country which led to the nationwide protests.

Since the protest started 13 days ago, reports had it that those protesting over Police brutality and reformation of the Nigerian system, have been doing so within the circumference of calmness and maturity, until Tuesday, October 20, when hoodlums infiltrated and caused confusion by burning down police stations, correctional centres (Prison), and killing innocent Nigerians.

Due to these, Lagos state government and other state governors, like osun and Ondo declared 24 hours curfew in their various states.

Knowing their rights as enshrined in Section 39(1) of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria as amended, which guarantees freedom of expression as a fundamental right, protesters maintained on continuing their peaceful protest at Lekki Toll Gate.

Note that this right is also guaranteed under the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights instruments.

Also, information reaching OnyxNews Nigeria states that soldiers and other officers deployed to maintain curfew opened fire on Peaceful protesters and allegedly killing and injuring many protesters.

At the same time at Lekki/Ikoyi toll gate has been engulfed with fire.
