Sowore and others have been arrested on new year celebration day.

Publisher of SaharaReporters, an online news platform and a well known Rights activist, Amnesty International designated Prisoner of Conscious, Omoyele Sowore has been arrested.

OnyxNews Nigeria reports that Sowore was arrested alongside other activists on Friday, January 1 2021 in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria.

The Activists were arrested by some Nigerian security forces for carrying out a peaceful procession to celebrate the New Year in FCT.

OnyxNews Nigeria gathered that some police officers stormed Gudu Junction in Abuja, injuring Sowore before taking him away with other activists at the place of the peaceful procession, according to eyewitnesses.
