Abuja-Kaduna Highway Now Safe For The Public – IGP
Baba Alkali Usman, the Inspector-General of Police, has assured the public that the Abuja-Kaduna highway is now safe.
The Nigeria Police Force’s Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Special Forces (SF), Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Special Tactical Squad (STS), and Airwing operatives in charge of unmanned aerial vehicles have all been deployed on the road, according to the IGP.
He made this assurance during an interactive session with reporters after a patrol on the highway with some senior officers.
During the patrol, IGP Alkali also paid a visit to Armed Forces and Police personnel stationed at Rijana to ensure the safety of a technical crew from the Nigeria Railway Corporation working to repair damaged train coaches and rail lines in the axis, as well as to assess the state of their post.
He claims that enough men and assets have been deployed to protect lives and property along the route.
He also claimed to have mapped out some key and strategic points along the expressway, which he said were immediately fortified with the deployment of operatives from various units within the force.

Normalcy would be restored, he promised, with the strategic and operational deployment of officers along the route. For effective policing of all spaces, the IGP has tasked members of the public with active intelligence sharing with law enforcement agencies.
