Video: Tears In Imo As Security Operatives Shoot Many Dead, Burn Down Houses

Serious Trouble in Orlu and Orsu local government areas of Imo state as Security Operatives and unknown gunmen engaged in a shootout on Sunday.

Families are currently mourning the loss of their loved ones amid allegations that the security operatives shot into people’s houses.

The security operatives were said to be on the lookout for members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) that are allegedly lodging in some of the houses in the community.

A musician, Roco Nnadiekwe, popularly known as Ja Rule has been identified by residents as one of the casualties of the crisis.

The musician was said to have returned to his hometown from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, last week and was supposed to shoot a video of his latest song (single) in Owerri, on Monday, before his was killed.

The security operatives burnt a number of houses in the affected communities.

A popular brothel, Ukwu Aki in Amaifeke Orlu, was allegedly burnt by the security operatives.

It was learnt that the shooting started from Banana junction before spreading to other areas.

Other affected areas were Amanachi, Awo-Idemili in the Orsu Local Government Area of the state.
