President Buhari Makes Another New Appointment (Photo)
Buhari appoints, Adepoju Sunday as new Postmaster General Adepoju Sunday was selected to fill the dual role of Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer for the Nigerian Postal Service after receiving the blessing of Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari.
Information was provided in a statement that was released on Wednesday by Uwa Suleiman, who serves as the spokeswoman for the Minister of Communications and the Digital Economy. It was mentioned in the announcement that the minister, Prof. Isa Pantami, had recommended the candidate for the position, which led to the appointment.
The following is an excerpt from the statement: “The new Postmaster General of NIPOST, Hon. Adepoju Adeyemi Sunday, is appointed for an initial term of five years.”

According to the further information provided in the announcement, Adepoju is a certified public accountant and served as a representative for the Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015 and again from 2015 till 2019.
Earlier, it was announced that the Federal Government, through the Communications Minister, had authorized the appointment of Bulus Yakubu as acting Postmaster General of the Federation/CEO, NIPOST. This current appointment of Adepoju Sunday was made after Bulus Yakubu had previously served in these roles.
Dr. Ismail Adewusi, who had been appointed in 2019, was placed on administrative leave.
