BREAKING: Russia Officially Declares War Against Ukraine
The Kremlin has formally announced that Russia is in a ‘state of war’ in response to Western involvement in Ukraine.
Kremlin said: “We are now in a state of war, and everyone must understand this. And we will continue to work so that Ukraine’s military capabilities do not pose a threat to our security. Russia is at war because of the West’s intervention in Ukraine. We cannot allow the presence of any country on our borders that threatens to control Crimea.”
It is noted that Putin has not issued a formal declaration of war since the massive invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, in which hundreds of thousands of Russian troops were deployed.
Instead, Putin refers to it as a “special military operation,” and individuals, including journalists, who have referred to it as a war have faced criminal penalties for “discrediting” the army.
