John Mahama has officially assumed office as Ghana’s new president during a ceremony that was graced by leaders from around the world.
Recall that the former president emerged victorious in the 2024 presidential election held on December 8, overcoming his primary challenger, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
Mahama, who previously served as Ghana’s 12th president from 2011 to 2017, has successfully returned to power through the re-election process.
Nigerian President Bola Tinubu also departed Lagos on Monday to be part of the inauguration festivities.
The ceremony is currently underway in Accra, the capital city of Ghana.
