BREAKING: Lionel Messi’s Bodyguard Banned By MLS
Yassine Cheuko, the bodyguard of Inter Miami star Lionel Messi, has disclosed that he can no longer assist the player as much as before due to a ban imposed by Major League Soccer (MLS).
A former Navy SEAL, Cheuko has been working with Messi since the footballer’s move to the U.S. in 2023, when it was determined that the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner required personal security.
Cheuko frequently appeared at MLS games, often pursuing pitch-invading fans eager to get close to Messi, with many being tackled before reaching him.
However, MLS has now restricted Cheuko’s role, limiting his duties to off-field security and prohibiting him from entering the pitch.
He told House of Highlights: “They don’t allow me to be on the field anymore.”
Cheuko, speaking on the problems that MLS face with Messi, added: “I was in Europe for seven years working for Ligue 1 and the Champions League, and only six people invaded the pitch.
“I arrived in the United States, and in 20 months of work, 16 people have already invaded the pitch. There’s a huge problem here. I’m not the problem. Let me help Messi.”
