Atiku Warns of Growing Desensitization to Violence Under Tinubu’s Security

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the security framework under President Bola Tinubu, saying the current system has failed to curb the widespread violence and killings across the nation.

In a statement released on Friday via X, Atiku called the security situation a “nationwide phenomenon,” with the frequency of killings growing to such an extent that many now fail to make news headlines. His comments followed a recent wave of attacks in Plateau State, particularly in Bokkos Local Government Area, where multiple lives were lost.

“The failure of Bola Tinubu’s security architecture has become an endemic problem, with repeated killings that often go unreported,” Atiku said.

He expressed concern that Nigerians were becoming desensitized to violence, with horrific events now perceived as a routine part of daily life. Atiku renewed his call for a complete overhaul of Nigeria’s security structure, urging the government to take urgent action.

“I urge the Tinubu administration to immediately reconfigure its security framework to prioritize the protection of citizens’ lives and property,” Atiku added.

His remarks come amid growing public frustration over the increasing insecurity in various parts of the country.
