Anambra Flood Victims Receive Relief from Red Cross, EU

The Nigerian Red Cross Society in Anambra State, in collaboration with the European Union, has provided relief materials to flood-affected communities in Ogbaru, Anambra West, and Ayamelum LGAs. The distribution, held from April 17 to 19, focused on vulnerable groups impacted by the 2024 floods.
Kingsley Okoye, Branch Secretary, said, “This initiative was generously sponsored by the European Union and focused on delivering dignity kits to individuals and families most impacted by the flood.” The dignity kits included hygiene items aimed at improving the well-being of recipients, especially women and girls.
The relief distribution was conducted by Red Cross staff and volunteers, reaching hundreds of beneficiaries. Okoye emphasized that the aid not only met immediate hygiene needs but also reaffirmed the Red Cross’s dedication to supporting affected communities during emergencies.
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the support, describing it as timely and impactful. The Red Cross extended gratitude to its partners and called for ongoing support to sustain such humanitarian interventions
