Child Trafficking Ring Busted: Imo Police Rescue 4-Year-Old, Arrest Two

Imo State Police rescued a four-year-old boy and arrested two suspects, Joy Ugwu and Rosella Michael, during a failed ₦2.7 million sale in Owerri on April 14. The boy, abducted in Abuja while hawking vegetables, was brought to Owerri by the suspects before their arrest.
DSP Henry Okoye confirmed the third suspect, a nurse, fled. “Operatives intercepted the transaction following credible intelligence,” he said. The child, Jaffa Umar, was reunited with his family through collaboration with Zone 7 Police, Abuja.
The suspects now face prosecution at the Zonal CID, Abuja. CP Danjuma emphasized vigilance, urging prompt reporting of trafficking activities.
