BREAKING: Rapper Chris Brown Detained Over 2023 London Nightclub Attack
Rapper Chris Brown was arrested early Thursday morning at a luxury hotel in Manchester in connection with a bottle attack at a London nightclub.
Metropolitan Police apprehended the 36-year-old American artist shortly after 2 a.m. at The Lowry Hotel.
The arrest relates to a February 19, 2023 incident at Tape nightclub in Hanover Square, Mayfair, where Brown allegedly assaulted music producer Abe Diaw.
Diaw alleges the attack was unprovoked and occurred around 3 a.m. at the upscale venue.
Brown had flown into the UK the previous day on a private jet, landing at Manchester Airport.
Following a report by The Sun confirming his presence in the country, Met detectives traveled to Manchester to carry out the arrest.
He is currently being held at a local police station for questioning.
A Met Police spokesperson confirmed: “A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
He remains in custody. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023.”
