Four Children Murdered by Pastor in Enugu Community: Investigation Underway

A grim tragedy has unfolded in Ibagwa-Aka, Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State, where four siblings were killed in a shocking act of violence by a pastor affiliated with a sabbath church.
The victims, aged between two and seven years-Kamsiyochukwu, Ezinne, Ujunwa, and Chinedu Ezema-were reportedly bludgeoned to death with a pestle, an act that has left the local community devastated.
The reason behind this brutal killing remains unknown, but the impact has been deeply felt. Mr. Ferdinand Ukwueze, Chairman of the Igbo Eze South Local Government, visited the family and crime scene, expressing his outrage and condolences. “Our community was shaken by the tragic and heinous murder of four innocent children in Ibagwa-Aka,” he stated.
Security operatives including the Nigeria Police Force and DSS are actively investigating the case. Ukwueze disclosed, “Following preliminary investigations, law enforcement agencies have apprehended some key suspects in connection with the crime, while still searching for others yet at large.”
The premises where the incident occurred have been sealed off by the council chairman, as it is suspected to be a site for unauthorized herbal medicine and spiritual practices. “We are fully committed to supporting the ongoing investigation and ensuring that justice is served,” Ukwueze added.
The parents, Chinonso and Loveth Ezema, who were not present during the tragedy, are calling for justice. “We want the police to thoroughly investigate this and ensure the culprit is brought to book,” the father said.
Authorities have pledged to enhance community safety and surveillance to prevent recurrence of such grievous acts. Attempts to reach the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, for comment were unsuccessful.
