The Nigerian Air Force has dealt a significant blow to Boko Haram terrorists with a series of precision airstrikes on their enclave in Bita, Borno State. The air mission, conducted in the early hours of Friday as part of Operation Hadin Kai, reportedly killed scores of insurgents and destroyed their stronghold.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, described the operation as a “major operational success.” He stated, “NAF combat aircraft carried out precision airstrikes on fleeing terrorists in Bita, Borno State, neutralising scores of insurgents in what has been described as one of the most decisive blows against the group in recent times.”

The statement further highlighted that the operation was “highly coordinated” and executed under the cover of darkness, marking a significant step toward dismantling the terrorists’ operational capabilities in the North-East.

Following the airstrikes, ground forces have commenced clearance and exploitation operations to consolidate the gains. The NAF reassured Nigerians of its commitment to protecting the country’s territorial integrity, affirming that “all necessary measures are being taken to ensure that terrorist elements have no safe haven anywhere within the country.”

This latest success adds momentum to ongoing military efforts to combat insurgency and restore peace in the region.
