Ex-Senator, Jibril Aminu Dies At 8
Professor Jibril Aminu, a former Nigerian senator and ambassador, has passed away at the age of 85.
He died on Wednesday in Abuja after a prolonged illness.
Professor Aminu served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States from 1999 to 2003, and later represented Adamawa Central Senatorial District in the Senate from 2003 to 2011.
A distinguished cardiologist, he earned his first medical degree from the University of Ibadan in 1965, and later obtained a PhD in medicine from the Royal Postgraduate Medical School in London in 1972.
He is survived by two wives and nine children.
