Portugal Emerged UEFA Nations League Champions After Defeating Spain On Shoot-out
Spain suffered their first final defeat under Luis de la Fuente on Sunday night, as La Roja endured penalty shootout heartbreak against Portugal in the UEFA Nations League.
After a 2-2 draw over 120 minutes, the match was decided by penalties at Munich’s Allianz Arena, bringing De la Fuente’s title defence to an end.
Veteran striker Álvaro Morata saw his effort saved by Diogo Costa, while Rúben Neves calmly converted his spot kick, halting Spain’s impressive run of form in 2025.
