Pastor Paul Adefarasin Submits to Police Investigation After Viral Gun Video in Lagos

Following the viral dissemination of a video allegedly showing Pastor Paul Adefarasin holding a firearm during a roadside encounter, the Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church has turned himself in to the Lagos State Police Command for questioning.
This was confirmed by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police spokesperson, who communicated the update via WhatsApp to our correspondent.
The video, which surfaced last week, shows Pastor Adefarasin holding a metallic object while speaking to a passerby who was recording the incident. The clip quickly went viral, leading to widespread speculation and social media claims that the pastor was brandishing a gun.
In response to the public outcry, Pastor Adefarasin addressed his congregation on social media last Saturday, clarifying that the object in the video was not a firearm and emphasizing that he did not point it at anyone. He described the situation as a misunderstanding.
CSP Hundeyin’s message stated, “No one is above the law! Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, and is currently being interrogated by detectives.”
The police have commenced an investigation into the incident, noting that the pastor was driving an unregistered vehicle at the time the video was recorded. The spokesperson assured that the outcome of the investigation would be made public to ensure accountability
