BREAKING: Senate Unseals Natasha’s Office, See What It Means
Fresh indications of reconciliation surfaced on Tuesday as security personnel and the Sergeant-at-Arms of the National Assembly reopened Senate Office 205 belonging to embattled Kogi Central senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the PDP.
The move restores her access to the National Assembly complex after months of restriction and suggests that the protracted rift between Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio may be easing.
Parliamentary sources revealed that the upper chamber’s leadership reached the decision during a closed-door session on Monday.
When plenary resumes on October 7, 2025, a motion is expected to be tabled, with Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro likely to formally move for her reinstatement following a public apology.
Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended for six months in March 2025 after a heated protest over the reallocation of her seat on February 20, 2025.
Although her suspension technically expired in September, she remained locked out due to ongoing legal battles and resistance from Senate leadership. Her court challenge against the sanction initially failed to secure her return.
