Lamine Yamal Doubtful For El Clasico— Barcelona Manager Hansi Flick

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has expressed uncertainty over Lamine Yamal’s fitness ahead of this season’s El Clasico.

Flick revealed that it remains unclear whether the 18-year-old will be ready to face Real Madrid later this month.

Yamal recently returned from a groin injury, coming on as a substitute in last week’s win over Real Sociedad, and later featured for the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain.

“With this injury, it’s not so easy to know [when he will return],” Flick told reporters today.

“It’s not easy to say ‘OK he can play in two, three or four weeks…’ or if he’s able to play the Clásico. This is not possible.

“We have to wait. We must manage his load. He trains with the recovery team and [spend] the next weeks with them. We go step by step. We have to see how the evolution is.”
