Major Glo Network Outage Cripples Services Across Abuja, Northern States— Reports

Residents and users of Glo services in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and several northern states were on Friday hit by a major network outage that cut off mobile calls and data services for hours.

The disruption, which left thousands of subscribers without connectivity, triggered widespread complaints as users struggled to make calls or access the internet throughout the day.

Globacom Limited confirmed the outage in a statement, disclosing that the fault began at 11:49 a.m. on 14 November 2025.

According to the company, the service collapse was caused by multiple fibre cuts and high-loss incidents along critical transmission routes.

Glo added that the outage was still ongoing at the time of the announcement, noting that its technical teams had been deployed immediately to begin restoration work.

Glo assured customers that work was underway to resolve the issue, saying “Our technical team is working to ensure services are being restored as quickly as possible.” 

The company said engineers were already on the ground repairing the affected infrastructure.

“Thank you for your patience and for choosing Glo. We truly appreciate you,” the statement read, as the telecom operator acknowledged the inconvenience experienced by subscribers.

Reassuring customers, Glo emphasised the importance of uninterrupted connectivity, saying, “We understand how important uninterrupted connectivity is to you.” 

It further assured that engineers were working urgently to restore services across Abuja and the northern region.

“Our engineers are actively working to restore services in Abuja and across the North as quickly as possible. 

Thank you for your patience and continued trust in Glo,” the company added.

Subscribers were urged to remain patient as repairs continued on the damaged network routes.
