Breaking: Boko Haram terrorists attack Michika in Adamawa
Boko Haram terrorists on Thursday 2 January attacked Michika, in Adamawa state, northeast of Nigeria.
Onyxnewsng Learnt that the sect attacked Michika on Thursday evening.
According to an online news platform, TheCable, quoted a Nigerian Army personnel who confirmed the attack.
The soldier told the online news platform that he got a call around 6pm that Boko Haram were already in the town.
“Michika is under attack right now. Our men are on their way to repel,” the soldier told TheCable.
A resident around the town who also confirmed the attack, told Thecable that his sister was trapped as a result of the attack.
These Michika attack is coming after group of Boko Haram connected to the Islamic State, killed 11 Christian captives in Borno on Christmas eve.
The insurgents had said that the action was taken to avenge the deaths of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, IS’ late leader and Abul-Hasan Al-Muhajir, its spokesman, who were killed in Syria in October last year.
Late last year, four abducted aid workers of an international non-government organisation, the Action Against Hunger, were killed by the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP).
The ISWAP insurgents said the aid workers were killed inline with the breakdown of talks with the federal government.
However, as at the time of filing this report, the spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Sagir Musa, was yet to say a word regarding the attack.
Seems Boko Haram has renewed attacks in the north-east despite the federal government claims that the insurgents have been defeated.
