Nigeria records first death of coronavirus

Onyxnewsng reports that the former Managing Director of PPMC Suleiman Achimugu died over night from corona virus.
He is the first casualty in the West Africa country.
The online news platform gathered that Achimugu who returned from the United Kingdom two weeks ago started showing the symptoms of the virus last week Tuesday. This made some of his family members to report the pandemic case to the NCDC.
According to a family source, NCDC took Achimugu’s blood sample for test which the centre for disease control never got back to them.
As of yesterday afternoon, the patient was coughing profusely. So they called the NCDC to inquire about his results, but turned out positive.
He died early hour today at exactly 2am in Gwagwalada hospital.
The deceased’s family are currently under quarantine in their houses.
Meanwhile, Onyxnewsng reported that Atiku’s son has contracted the coronavirus disease.
The former president who is also a 2019 Presidential candidate under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced this on Sunday night, 22 March in a tweet on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.
Atiku tweeted: “My son has tested positive to coronavirus. @NCDCGov has been duly informed, and he has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management.
“I will appreciate it if you have him in your prayers. Stay safe, coronavirus is real,” the tweet read.
Also this online news reported that new cases of coronavirus has been announced in Nigeria.
NCDC announced five new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria on Monday, 23rd March 2020.
The new cases include two in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), two in Lagos state and one in Edo state. Two of the cases are returning travellers from the United Kingdom.
So far, there have been 35 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria and two have been discharged. Presently one death reported.
