Five new cases of coronavirus has been announced in Nigeria
Onyxnewsng reports that NCDC announced five new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Nigeria on Monday, 23rd March 2020.
The new cases include two in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), two in Lagos state and one in Edo state.
Two of the cases are returning travelers from the United Kingdom.
So far, there have been 35 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria and two have been discharged.
This new development brings cases in Lagos to 24, FCT – 6, Ogun- 2, Ekiti- 1, Oyo- 1, Edo- 1, making it a total of 30 cases of coronavirus.
This online news platform understands that just on Sunday evening, March 22, the Lagos State Government recorded fresh three cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) with 2 out of the three cases returning from a journey and one contact of a confirmed case.
Giving an update on the spread of the disease, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) tweeted: “Three new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Lagos, Nigeria. 2 cases are returning travellers and 1 is a contact of a confirmed case.
“As at 05:28 pm on the 22nd of March, there are 30 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. 2 have been discharged with no deaths,” the tweet added.
The former vice president of Nigeria Atiku Abubakar’s son has contracted the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).
Onyxnewsng reports that the former president who is also a 2019 Presidential candidate under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced this same on Sunday night, 22 March in a tweet on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.
Atiku tweeted: “My son has tested positive to coronavirus. @NCDCGov has been duly informed, and he has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management.
“I will appreciate it if you have him in your prayers. Stay safe, coronavirus is real,” the tweet read.
The former presidential candidate said the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has been duly informed and that his son has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja, for treatment and management.
