COVID-19 lockdown: No word from President Buhari over lockdown extension

Onyxnews Nigeria reports that President, Muhammadu Buhari, has praised the efforts of the Presidential Task Force on tackling the deadly COVID-19 during a meeting with the task force.
The task force was led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.
“The Presidential Task Force on Control of COVID-19 briefed me today. I remain very grateful for the hard work that they are putting into this national assignment. I have no doubt that with all these efforts, Nigeria will triumph over this pandemic,” Buhari said in a tweet.
The president on Friday in a State House met with some of the members of the task force over the national response on COVID-19, especially controlling the citizens to make sure they don’t disobey the lockdown order given to Lagos, Ogun and Abuja.
This reliable online news platform can recall that President Buhari on March 29, gave directive on lockdown of the aforementioned three states for an initial period of 2 weeks, he did not give any indication on whether or not there would be an extension of the lockdown.
Meanwhile, those at the meeting included Mustapha, who is also the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force; the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire; the Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu; and the National Coordinator in the fight against COVID-19, Dr. Sani Aliyu.
