JUST IN: Kano State records first case of COVID-19
Kano State has recorded its first case of COVID-19.
This was announced by an aide to the Governor of Kano State via his official Twitter handle, Peacock (@dawisu).
According to him, the index case lives around UDB Road, he returned from Abuja before the closure of border in the state.
Everyone close to him have been tested and are awaiting results.
Kano State Governor’s aide, also said, the new case of the pandemic detected in the state is presently at Kwanar Dawaki Isolation Centre in the State.
“Kano has recorded its 1st case of Covid-19 in the State. The index case lives around UDB Road, he returned from Abuja on the eve of the border closure in the State. All those close to him have been tested and are awaiting results. He is currently at Kwanar Dawaki Isolation Centre,” Dawisu tweeted.

Earlier on Saturday, Lagos State announced the death of a COVID-19 patient.
Lagos State commissioner for health, Prof Akin Abayomi confirmed the death case, said the patient was killed by the deadly pandemic in a private hospital on Saturday.
