BREAKING: Lagos records fresh coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths

Lagos State has recorded new coronavirus, COVID-19 related deaths.

The state Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, made this known through the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Tuesday.

He stated that, but the state had no new cases on Monday 20, April, there were related deaths from the ravaging pandemic.

On Monday evening, Onyxnews Nigeria reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the announcement that the Nigeria has recorded 38 new cases of the deadly disease, bringing the total number of cases of the virus to 665 in the country.

This reliable online news platform understands that the agency made the announcement via the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Monday evening.

It tweeted: “Thirty-eight new cases of #COVID19 have been reported;

“23 in Kano, 5 in Gombe, 3 in Kaduna, 2 in Borno, 2 in Abia, 1 in FCT, 1 in Sokoto, 1 in Ekiti.

“As at 11:10 pm 20th April there are 665 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria, 188 discharged and 22 deaths,” NCDC added.

No new case of the virus was detected in Lagos then, but death case was recorded

Prof Abayomi said, one of the deceased was a 45- year-old Nigerian man who returned from India in January.

He Tweeted: “#COVID19Lagos Update

“No new case of #COVID19 was confirmed in Lagos on 20th April, 2020.

“However, #COVID19 related deaths were recorded in Lagos. One of the deceased was a 45 years old Nigerian male who returned from India in January, 2020.”

So far, Lagos state has 379 confirmed cases, 98 has been discharged, 260 active cases and 16 deaths.
