Atiku’s son tests negative for coronavirus, AIT chairman Dokpesi Jr comes out positive
Mohammed Atiku-Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has tested negative for coronavirus, after recovery.
Onyxnews Nigeria reported that Mohammed Atiku-Abubakar contracted the pandemic virus on March 19, shortly after he returned from a business engagement in France and Switzerland.
He was subsequently transferred to an isolation centre in Abuja where he was receiving treatments.
Speaking to Premium Times after his recovery, he said, “I have just received my second consecutive negative result.
“My discharge is currently being processed, and I hope to be home this evening.”
On the other hand, the chairman of DAAR Communications Plc, Raymond Dokpesi Jnr has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
AIT reported on Monday evening that Dokpesi sent a short message to members of staff in Abuja to inform them of his health status and urged those who came in contact with him to get tested as well.
He was said to have been self-isolating in the past week, before he developed malaria symptoms and started coughing.
He reportedly contacted the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for a COVID-19 test which came out to be positive.
This reliable online news platform gathered that Dokpesi Jr, didn’t have a recent travel history. He advised those who have interacted with him lately to get to know their status.
The statement read, “I got a call this morning confirming the result is COVID-19 positive. I am leaving now to the Gwagwalada Isolation Centre for treatment and hope to be back in two weeks. Many of you may have interacted with me during our various meetings and I would advise you to get tested as soon as possible.”
