Coronavirus: FG to declare another nationwide lockdown, see main reason

The Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Buhari is set to declare another nationwide lockdown again over the continuous increased cases of coronavirus in Nigeria.

Onyxnews Nigeria reports that President Muhammadu Buhari’s  Government has given a clue on the possibility of enforcing a nationwide lockdown if cases of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic continues to hike.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, made this announcement on Thursday during the PTF daily briefing. He revealed that the possibility of another nationwide lockdown is very high.

He said: “This is the time to lock down if it were within my power. This is the time to lock down because I can see the attitude of people romancing with COVID-19.

“The daily increase in confirmed cases, the Federal Government feels a sense of frustration because we can see glaringly the danger ahead and you can see the level of recklessness on the part of people who should know better,” Mustapha said.

Boss Mustapha further said that imposing another lockdown won’t be out of place, considering the increasing number of COVID-19 cases across Nigeria.

He also said that the way Nigerians were all over the virus showed that there was danger ahead.

Nigeria recorded new cases of deadly COVID-19 pandemic, as number of disease has hit 22,614 as at yesterday, June 25.

This reliable online news plaform reported that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) broke the news that 594 new cases of the pandemic has been detected in Nigeria. Total number of the viral disease is 22,614, discharged cases 7,822 and 549 death cases.
