Family, well wishers defy COVID-19 protocols at Kashamu’s burial rite (Photos/Video)
Family and well wishers defy COVID-19 protocols at Kashamu’s burial rite today.
OnyxNews Nigeria reports that Senator Kashamu Buruji was buried in his Ijebu Igbo hometown earlier today.
The scene of the burial and emerging photos could not be overlooked.
Recall that the use of face masks and social distancing rule was advised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to stop the spread of coronavirus. The mask wearing and physical distancing were breached in Ogun state during the burial rites of the late senator and businessman, Buruji Kashamu.
Kashamu, a former Ogun senator and Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, died Saturday at the First Cardiology Consultants Hospital in Lagos.
His friend and former colleague at the Senate, Ben Murray-Bruce, confirmed that he was being hospitalized at the facility after contracting COVID-19.
Multimedia evidence obtained by this online news source showed that scores of people gathered at his burial place, neglecting the COVID-19 protocols.
