Kano State Former Chief Judge, Shehu Atiku is Dead.
OnyxNews Nigeria reports that the spokesperson to the Kano Judiciary, Baba Jibo Ibrahim confirmed Justice Shehu Atiku’s death.
According to the spokesman in a statement, he issued late Sunday night that the Chief Judge died following a brief illness.
The late Justice Atiku is expected to be buried on Monday morning around 11am at his home.
Late Atiku was well known for his role in the failed banks tribunal in which he was uncompromising even various attempts to bribe him.
He was also said to have refused to bow to threats on his life as he diligently adjudicated on cases brought before the tribunal over which he presided.
In 2015, he retired from the bench as the Chief Judge of Kano State.
The late Chief Judge was known as a humble and easy-going. He was liked for his simplicity and sociable attributes.
