Court Makes Major Decision Over Obaseki’s Alleged Forged Certificate

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday, has dismissed Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki‘s motion challenging his alleged forged certificate suit.
The suit was brought by APC and their gubernatorial candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu. They prayed to the honorable court to disqualify Governor Godwin Obaseki due to the discrepancies in his certificate.
The Nigeria’s ruling party, APC further prayed that since Obaseki is not qualified to contest the September 19th election, his votes should be declared null and void and the person that took second in the election, Ize-Iyamu, be returned elected.
OnyxNews Nigeria recalls that Governor Obaseki was disqualified by the APC gubernatorial primaries committee appointed by Former national chairman of APC and a strong opposition to Obaseki’s second term bid, Adams Oshiomhole, on account of alleged forged certificates presented to the party.
Obaseki thereafter dumped APC to the PDP and secured its party’s ticket while the APC went ahead to file a case against Obaseki and the PDP for fielding a candidate with forged certificates.
Reports gathered by this online news platform reveals that a latter date, has been fixed for further procession by the Federal High Court to rule on the court main case initiated by APC.
