Where Are The Kidnapped Kankara Students?
Kankara students abduction: Nigeria is going deeper into a state of lack of ethical standards.
This is with the abduction of about 600 school children from their hostel, at the Government Secondary School (GSS), Kankara, Katsina State, by suspected gunmen at about 9.45pm on Friday.
The students abduction is happening barely eight days after Boko Haram slaughtered over 40 farmers in Borno State, among other violent incidents have continued to lend credence to the worsening insecurity in the country.
The school children’s abduction is also coming the day President Muhammadu Buhari landed in his home state of Katsina for a week’s private visit, where he was presented with a horse by Emir of Daura, Alhaji Farouk Umar Farouk.
Meanwhile, a cross section of women and youths from Kankara town in Buhari’s state took to the streets earlier on Sunday demanding immediate release of their children abducted at the Government Science Secondary School on Friday night by suspected bandits.

The Coalition of Northern Groups also joined the women and the youth of the town to protest and threatened to mobilise Katsina residents on continuous street protest if government fails to secure the release of students.
“Failure of the government to rescue the missing students within the shortest period of time, the Coalition of Northern Groups will not hesitate to mobilise hundreds of thousands on the streets of Katsina State for a continuous protest, until the students are fully rescued, even if it’s going to cost our lives,” the group said on Sunday at a press conference in Katsina.
