Information reaching OnyxNews Nigeria reports that the popular Oregbeni market in Ramat Park, Benin City, Edo State is currently on fire.

Oregbeni is a market where foodstuffs such as rice and beans brought from outside the South South State, as well as locally grown food items like yams, melons, vegetables, etc. are sold at quite affordable rates in this particular market.

Eyewitnesses said a huge part of the market behind the Nigeria Immigration Service Office caught fire.

Though, as at when filing this report, the cause of the massive fire and the extent of damage it has caused in term of lives and properties is unknown.
