Confusion As A Powerful President Dies After Reelection, His Son To Replace Him.
OnyxNews Nigeria reports that President Idriss Deby who won a 6th term on Monday has died of injuries suffered on the frontline, an Army spokesperson said.
Chad’s newly reelected president, Idris Deby has died of injuries suffered on the frontline while fighting rebels in the north of the Sahel, an Army spokesman said on Tuesday.
Army spokesman General Azem Bermandoa Agouna said in a confirmed in a statement which was read on state television, that the 68-year-old Deby “has just breathed his last defending the sovereign nation on the battlefield.”
The news came a day after Deby won a 6th term as per provisonal election results released on Monday. Deby who came to power in a rebellion in 1990, took 79.3 percent of the vote in the April 11 presidential election, as shown in the result.

His death comes barely one month after he visited Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari over consistent Boko Haram terrorists attacks in the area.
Meanwhile, son, Mahamat Kaka named interim president to replace the just died leader.
