Big Brother Naija Reveals Date For Season 6, See Grand Prize

MultiChoice Nigeria revealed that the winner of the Big Brother Naija Season Six reality TV show will walk home with N90m grand prize.
The grand prize which includes an undisclosed cash prize, makes this season’s winnings the biggest since its debut back in 2006 and highest prize for reality TV show on the continent.
Martin Mabudu, Multichoice customer officer, said the winnings were increased to make this season significant and to also ensure that viewers are well entertained during the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In line with COVID-19 safety measures, the live shows will adopt the Lockdown season style with no guests.
The show which will start airing on Saturday, July 24 2021 will run for 72 days and end on October 3, 2021.
People in diaspora can watch and vote on web and the apps.
The organizers also said there will be no SMS voting as fans will now be able to vote for their favourite housemates for free on the official website and application.
This is to allow a more inclusive participation for fans outside Nigeria.
Meanwhile, some groups are calling on the Federal Government to ban smoking in the Big Brother house.
The Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa (CAPPA) and the Nigeria Tobacco Control Alliance (NTCA) made the appeal on Friday in a petition to the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).
They demanded the prohibition of smoking citing health complications and Covid-19.
‘‘It is even worse at a period the country is battling with COVID -19 pandemic since it has been established that smokers have greater possibility of developing complications or even death if they contract the coronavirus”, the petition read.
