2022 UTME: JAMB Shifts Exams Date, See Date

Oonyxnewsng reports that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the mock examination for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will now take place on April 9, rather than April 16, as previously planned.

On Monday in Abuja, the board announced this in its Weekly Bulletin of the Office of the Registrar.

According to JAMB, the change was made due to the realisation that April 16 was an Easter Saturday, which is a holy Saturday observed by Christians to mark the end of Lent before Easter Sunday.

The board also noted that the date of the exercise had been influenced by the change in the registration date for the UTME and Direct Entry (DE), which was originally scheduled for February 12 but began on February 19.

It did, however, advise all candidates who had registered and planned to participate in the mock exam to take note of the new date and prepare accordingly.

NECO Releases 2021 SSCE External Candidates’ Results

According to the board, over 236,000 candidates were successfully registered on February 26, eight days after registration began on February 19.

When comparing the statistics to the 2021 exercise, the board stated that in the 2021 exercise, only 102,221 candidates were registered in the same eight-day period. The improvement was attributed to JAMB’s collaboration with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), who added that the smooth process had produced the desired results.
