Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who narrowly lost his quest to lead Osun State nearly four years ago, finally overcame the largest challenge remaining in the way of his ambition.
In the state’s governorship election on Saturday, he defeated incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC). On the strength of a campaign to improve the state and reclaim what he claims is his mandate that was stolen, Senator Adeleke, 62, won 403,371 votes, 28,344 more than his nearest challenger, Governor Oyetola.
