Neighbors Thwarted An Attempt To Kidnap A Woman In Calabar, C’River State

In Calabar, Cross River state, brave neighbors arrested suspected kidnappers who were trying to abduct a woman.
The woman, Mrs. Caroline Bassey, was lured into her car by the kidnappers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday by pretending to rent chairs from her.
The crime occurred in Peter Ojie Street off Winners Way in Calabar, South South Nigeria.
Mrs Bassey is said to be the twin sister of the Former Permanent Secretary Cross River State Ministry of Health Dr. Joseph Bassey.
The kidnappers tied up one of Mrs. Bassey’s employees and locked him in the refrigerator. Then they drove her away in her own car.
“When alarm was raised, a dare brave Good Samaritan blocked them and in a bid to abandon their Camry vehicle, jumped out to join their colleagues in the victim’s car, the brave Good Samaritan knocked one of them down with his Toyota Hilux vehicle,” they said.
In a joint effort, local security agencies rescued Mrs. Bassey by intercepting the kidnappers in Akamkpa LGA.
Luckily, Mrs. Bassey was rescued, and the kidnappers were handed over to the police.
