Guinness World Record : ‘ My Achievement Will Forever Be In History’ – Hilda Baci Tells
Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, recently shared her thoughts on being dethroned as the “longest cooking marathon (individual)” Guinness World Record holder by Irish chef, Alan Fisher. Despite losing the title, Baci emphasized that she still considers herself a Guinness World Record holder, both in spirit and in history.
Responding to questions from her fans regarding the removal of “Guinness World Record holder” from her social media bio, Baci explained that she made the update after her predecessor, Fisher, respectfully acknowledged her as the new record holder and updated her own bio accordingly. Baci expressed admiration for Fisher’s remarkable achievement of cooking continuously for an astonishing 119 hours and 57 minutes, surpassing her own record by more than 24 hours.
This exchange showcases the camaraderie and mutual respect between these two talented chefs. While Baci may no longer hold the official title, her achievement remains an important part of culinary history, and she continues to be recognized and celebrated for her incredible feat.
According to her X page, she wrote, “Just as Chef Lata respectfully acknowledged the new record holder by updating her bio and later fine-tuning the wording, I’ve adjusted mine too.
“Achieving such a record is no small feat, and I know this firsthand. I have only the greatest admiration for the hard work it took for Alan to reach such heights. Sportsmanship is about recognizing progress, whether the accolade is in my bio or not. I remain a record holder in spirit and in history. Let’s celebrate achievement and the spirit of competition.”
