Aston Villa Boss, Emery Explains Why His Side Defeats Arsenal 

Unai Emery, manager of Aston Villa, was full of praise for his team after their 1-0 victory over Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.

He lauded the players’ effort and commitment, and felt that they executed their game plan to perfection.

John McGinn’s early goal was the difference maker for Aston Villa, as they secured an important victory over Arsenal.

This was Villa’s second straight win over a top-of-the-table team, having also beaten Manchester City 1-0 earlier in the week.

These two wins have given Villa a boost in their quest to finish in the top half of the table.

However, Speaking to Sky Sports after the victory over Arsenal, Emery said: “It was a tough match and we were tired, but we started the game well. They were imposing their position on the pitch, but our goalkeeper was amazing.

“We tried to defend and keep possession longer than we did. We competed and it was a fantastic three points in a tough week. We have to be happy but also keep balance.”
