BREAKING: Former Reps Speaker Is Dead
Ghali Umar Na’abba, a prominent Nigerian politician and former Speaker of the House of Representatives in the 4th Republic, has passed away at the age of 65.
He had been battling an illness prior to his demise.
Na’abba, who hailed from Kano State, was elected as a member of the House of Representatives in 1999.
He assumed the role of Speaker shortly after the House’s inauguration, following the resignation of the then Speaker, Salisu Buhari, who was also from Kano State, due to a certificate forgery scandal.
More recently, Na’abba made headlines by leaving the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and joining the main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
